Shopping For Alcohol

Today my Malaysian friend who working in Dubai, bring me all the way to one warehouse store after Ajman town call Umm Ai-Qaiwain. We drive about 175km at the speed of 120km/hour across the Emirate Road and enter to a small road. From there we drive another 10km to bypass a small desert where we can see some camels walking there.

That warehouse store is small but when you entrance, BEERS, WHISKEY, VODKA, WINES, RUMS and all type of alcohol under one roof. What brand you named it they have it here.....Now nobody can tell that difficult to get alcohol in Dubai anymore...Heheee

Their price was even slightly cheaper then Duty Free in Airport. Example 24 cans of 500ml Carlsberg only cost me 75dhs (S$30). That is why a lot of foreigner and local come here and go back with full of cars with alcohol drinks.

After shopping, we went in to the Barracuda Resort next door and having our Buffet Lunch before we drive back.

Traffic in Dubai

After two months driving in Dubai, I already use to drive on their lefthanded car and busy street to work and shopping.
There are several highway from Dubai to other town like Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. Even the highway Sheikh Zayed Road that from my staying place to downtown also as long as few hundred kilometers. It was 7 lanes on each driving side with a lot of flyovers and main road across. The new train line Metro also under construction on the road side with several stations.

The speed limit here set as minimum 60kmh and maximum 120kmh. But some of the drivers sped up to 120~150kmh. That is why sometime we are stuck in the jam due to some accidents. Some area the RTA (Road & Transport Authorities) set up the electronic toll gate "SALIK" to control the tracffic flow. Each passing the gate they dudect 4.5dhs (S$1.80) from the electronic device install the the windscreen.

Above are the photos taken during I am driving on the road..... ..

After coming to Dubai, notice that lunch and dinner outside was not cheap and not much eastern food. So, no choice I have to slowly learn how to cook.

Started with simple fried rices, steamed chicken and now can cook some season Indian curry chicken and fried with Indian pan cake. I know that there are not really good but still long way to improve. I always very happy and enjoy cooking now, but do not like to do the oilly washing works after the cooking..... Lucky we have room service every morning they help me to do the washing...Hahahaaa...

Some time vegetable fried mushroom..
....bacon, sausages and fried eggs for breakfast.
....then sometime western food with red wine....
