Desert Safari In Dubai

After working several months in Dubai, this weekend I have a change to joint the Funtours of Dubai to go to the Desert Safari. We meet in the Mall of Emirates and pay for Dhs300 (S$120 / HK600) for two persons. The tour guide drive us all the way about one hour to the Al-Awir Desert. On the road side, they stop over in a souvenir shop and gather with others cars.

Before we start at the 30 minutes Dune Drive, we stop over at the border and let everybody take photos. After about 6 nos of 4X4 wheels drives meet, we will start our trip deep into desert.
All the vehicles follow each other go up hill and drive on top of the peak, and suddendly they will turn down from the way. Sometimes we feel like the whole vehicles turn into the deep sand and it will spin out from noway.......

The desert was so huge and the drivers like very familier with their direction......we are so enjoy it before they drive us to the Meeting Champ.

Over there we saw two camels resting over with their mouths covered.

Riding on top of camel...........the fine sand in the desert

Sunset in the Desert....we should experience it...

There are several stalls over there selling souvenir, carpet and sand bottles. One counter there serve us all free flow drinks, but if you are thinking to have some alcohol, just pay money.
We even have our free Hanna painting and free Shesha smoking before the BBQ dinner ready.

Haha...winson in local traditional dress....
....Time for the bally dancer.....opps...is a fat one, but dance well....
Good nite, Camels......

One Day In Abu Dhabi

On that Friday, we drive from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, just about one and half hour highway drive from my house. Before we reach there on the side road, we notice that a round building under construction going to completed soon.
While we are driving toward to Abu Dhabi town centre, we also notice that a lot of new buildings with glass curtain wall standing in this skyline of UAE's capital.
Our first stop go to the new Abu Dhabi Mall which is attached with a hotel facing the seaside. On the way going to Marina Mall, we notice that peoples buying ticket to going in to the Corniche Beach, which was manage by their goverment. You will notice that the seaside is so clean and the seawater are so clear.

At the corner of Corniche Beach, there are another big & famous Marina Mall, where IKEA & Carrifour also under one roof. In front of the mall, we can see a huge carpark and the seaside also park with a lot of speadboats and yatchs. At the centre of the mall, a water feature become the meeting point of all the shoppers and visitors.

This three storey high shopping mall with few hundred of retail outlet and few restaurants. We rest and have a cup of coffee in the 3rd floor foodcourt. Then we continious our journey to the Emirates Palace Hotel.

Because of to take some good angle of exterior building photos, I need to run quite far out to the Main Entrance gate there. Lucky the weather turn cooler on that day, and the water faeture on the garden made me feel cool also.

At the centre core of Main Lobby, we can see the whole hotel guestrooms corridor and the rich colour of dome ceiling. The waiting area also decorated very nice but the furniture a bit under size.
The Lift Lobby, the Lounge Bar and even the Cafe Area riched with all the gold materials like Yellow Oxny and gold leafs.....
On the bothsides of staircase going down to the lower floor, we find that two huge size of hand made carpet with the local palace pictures hanging on the wall.
At the back of Main Lobby, i find this ceiling light with the two unmatching column lights over the staircase area...??... I am very happy with the below photo where I take from outside corridor....Nice...
